LMI have been appointed to several major losses over the past few days. This includes a major mining event where the losses could reach over $100 million.

Chartered Accountant and Chartered Loss Adjuster, Murray Rowley who heads LMI’s specialist mining division, is heading the team that is looking into both the cause and quantum for insurers and the insured.

LMI is also assisting a number of insured entities following a fire in a building in the Melbourne suburb of Cheltenham. This team is headed by Des Reaby, the Manager of LMI Claims, Victoria. He is being supported by accountants from LMI Forensics.

Our role in this claim is to mitigate the losses for all parties concerned and to accurately quantify the loss within the terms of the insurance policies in place at the time of the loss. Such losses can occur at any time and it is so important for every business and home owner to review their insurances and think of insurance as financial protection and not a cost. When a large or complex loss occurs, remember LMI is there to assist you with offices all across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. We will have more on both losses as things develop.
