New CPD Portal Course

Demolition and Removal of Debris

When a fire, storm or other insured peril strikes buildings, contents, stock, or machinery and plant of an insured property, the damaged property assets cannot always be repaired. When this occurs, it’s necessary to dispose of the damaged property which is referred to as debris. Additionally, before permanent or temporary repairs can be made, some damaged property assets first need to be demolished, which also creates debris.

This course provides insurance professionals with a basic understanding of the distinctions between:

Removal of debris

Demolition for permanent repairs

Demolition for temporary repairs

The course also highlights important aspects for insurance professionals to consider including sub-limits for removal of debris and differences in cover provided between policies.

Available on our Continued Professional Development (CPD) portal, with true or false quizzes throughout, this course awards a total of 1 CPD point and a certificate upon completion.
