MJS’s factory premises at Yatala were destroyed by fire in April 2010.  The factory was rebuilt and the insured continued in business taking the opportunity, with the input of LMI, to change their business practices allowing them to go from strength to strength. In addition to mitigating their loss and ensuring the survial of the business, LMI also prepared their insurance claim.

As the business reached the 2 year milestone following the fire, a milestone that sadly only around 50% of businesses achieve, LMI awarded MJS a Phoenix Award which recognises their achievement of going through a major crisis and coming out the otherside.

On 20 November 2013 MJS hosted a business breakfast for approximately 50 members of the flooring industry in Queensland.  MJS arranged for a senior economist from the CBA, Mr John Peters, to speak to the attendees giving a positive insight to the Australian economy.

The Managing Director of MJS, Brett Sturgess, was so appreciative of the work of LMI and the Phoenix award that he invited LMI's Queensland Manager, Steve Grandidge, to speak to the breakfast on the need for full insurance with a quality insurer as AMP who were the insurers on this occasion.

Brett commented to the attendees that LMI ensured that MJS was treated fairly and equitably by insurers and that he would not think of trying to navigate an insurance claim by himself should his business be unlucky enough to find themselves in a similar situation.
