In an important update from QBE they share the following:

"We are writing with an important update on the New South Wales Emergency Services Levy (ESL) currently charged on commercial and residential property and valuables.

Following on from recent communications about the process of removing NSW ESL sent to you in April, May and December, we are pleased to announce QBE Insurance will move NSW ESL to zero.

We will be progressively implementing this rate change from 15 May 2017.

QBE is making the necessary changes to our systems so quotes, renewals and new business incepted on or after 15 May 2017 will reflect the rate change.

Renewals affected by the rate change will begin to be produced and distributed by our internal systems from Monday 3 April 2017.

The new rates for NSW ESL will be:

Product class

NSW ESL rate – current

NSW ESL – from 15 May 2017

Commercial property

 30%

 0%

Residential property

 16%

 0%

Valuables and personal effects

We are working with our external partners to implement these changes according to their individual systems."
