Session 1 – Tuesday 11 July 2023 (10:30am – 11:00am AEST):

You will learn about the different types of flooding and how they differ in their impact on properties.  We will examine a 7 (or 8) step process for delivering INSURABLE flood resilient solutions for properties and finally we will look at examples of flood protection products – “dry proofing”.

Session 2 – Tuesday 18 July 2023 (10:30am – 11:00am AEST):

We will re-examine the principals for deciding if a property should be dry or wet proofed, or a combination of both.  We will explore a strategy for “wet proofing” following the 3Rs methodology for determining solutions based on affordability, critical infrastructure and recoverability.  We will look at a hierarchical for determining the use of the most appropriate solutions given restrictions on space and costs and finally, we will look at some case studies from the UK and some architectural interventions from Australia.

Session 3 – Tuesday 1 August 2023 (10:30am – 11:00am AEST):

Our final webinar will look at perimeter defences and a more in depth look at commercial and public access buildings.  We will look at a range of products identified as Temporary, Temporary & Demountable and In-situ, whilst discussing their pros and cons.  We will discuss how these solutions can be used for community schemes and self-help groups and finally we will discuss the insurance and liability aspects of all the interventions discussed during this webinar series, including a role for parametric insurance.
